Deja Vu – NES Game

Deja Vu is a point-and-click style mystery adventure adapted for the NES. You wake in a washroom with no memory of who you are, then discover a body and evidence that points at you. Using a cursor and an on-screen command menu, you examine objects, open containers, move between rooms and pick up items that help you piece together your identity and clear your name. The setting is a noir-flavoured 1940s city of hotels, offices and back rooms. Progress depends on careful searching and on using the right item in the right place, and wrong choices can leave you arrested or dead, so saving and retrying is part of play. The interface descends from the MacVenture computer adventures, translated to a controller-driven cursor.
