Desert Strike Return to the Gulf – SNES Game

Desert Strike: Return to the Gulf is an isometric shoot-’em-up in which you fly an Apache attack helicopter through a series of desert campaigns. Each mission area is an open map with multiple objectives: destroy enemy installations, radar and armour, and pick up prisoners or allied personnel using a winch. Fuel and ammunition are constantly depleting, so you scavenge fuel barrels, ammo crates and armour from destroyed targets and airdrops to stay in the fight. Your loadout consists of a chain gun, Hydra rockets and Hellfire missiles, each suited to different targets. Damage accumulates until the helicopter is lost, which pushes you toward hit-and-run tactics and choosing the order in which you approach objectives. The Super Nintendo version presents the action from a scrolling overhead-angled viewpoint with a co-pilot advising on mission status.
