Donkey Kong 3 – NES Game

Donkey Kong 3 moves away from the ladder-climbing format of the earlier games. You play as Stanley, who defends a greenhouse from Donkey Kong and swarms of insects using a can of bug spray. Donkey Kong hangs from vines at the top of the single-screen stage, and spraying him pushes him upward while he moves side to side and drops hazards. At the same time, bees and other insects descend toward the flowers at the bottom of the screen, and losing your plants costs you. Stanley moves along platforms and sprays upward, so the game plays much like a fixed-screen shooter. Power-up sprays fire faster and stronger for a limited time. Scoring loops through increasingly busy stages, with two players taking alternating turns.
