Journey to Silius – NES Game

A side-scrolling run-and-gun action game for the Nintendo Entertainment System, published by Sunsoft. You move through futuristic industrial and mechanical stages, shooting enemies and dodging hazards on foot while jumping between platforms. Your character carries a default gun plus additional weapons that are added to your arsenal as you progress, each with its own ammunition; you switch between them from a sub-screen and choose the right tool for the enemies and bosses in front of you. Each stage ends in a boss fight against a large mechanical opponent. The game is played across a set run of levels with limited lives, and the difficulty comes from enemy placement and precise jumping. Its soundtrack is a frequently discussed part of the game.
