Mad Max – NES Game

Mad Max on the Nintendo Entertainment System is an action game set in a desert wasteland, based on the film series. Play is viewed from overhead as you drive your armed car across open stretches of desert, fighting off marauders in vehicles and on foot. Fuel, ammunition and repairs are limited, so much of the game involves scavenging supplies and reaching settlements between fights. In some areas you leave the car and continue on foot with a weapon, exploring outposts and dealing with enemies at close range. Combat is direct, with shooting and ramming both viable, and running out of fuel or taking too much damage ends the run. The goal is to press on through hostile territory toward your destination.
