Metal Gear – NES Game

Metal Gear on the NES is a top-down stealth action game published by Konami, adapted from the earlier MSX2 release. You play as Solid Snake, infiltrating a fortified enemy base to rescue captured personnel and stop a weapons programme. Rather than fighting through guards, you are expected to avoid their lines of sight, slip past cameras and retreat when an alert is triggered until the search dies down. Progress depends on finding keycards, uniforms and other items that open new areas, and inventory management matters because you can only carry and equip a limited loadout. Radio contact provides mission guidance and hints from allies as you go. Weapons and equipment found along the way include silenced firearms, explosives and a cardboard box for concealment. Boss encounters punctuate the base’s floors and outdoor areas.
