Mystery Quest – NES Game

Mystery Quest is a side-scrolling action game for the Nintendo Entertainment System. You control a small robed character who explores a series of stages made up of interior corridors, water-filled passages, and outdoor sections, moving left, right, up, and down through connected rooms rather than following a single straight path. Movement includes swimming, and your character attacks with a projectile that can be fired at the creatures wandering each area. Progress depends on finding keys and other items hidden in the environment so you can open doors and reach the exit, which encourages backtracking and mapping out each stage. The presentation is simple and cartoonish, with bright sprites and short looping music. Play is password-free continuation from level to level, with limited lives.
