Operation Wolf – NES Game

Operation Wolf on the NES is a home conversion of Taito’s arcade rail shooter. You move a targeting reticle across the screen as the view scrolls automatically through jungle, camps and buildings, shooting enemy soldiers before they can fire back. Ammunition and grenades are limited, so you pick up supplies dropped during levels and avoid hitting the hostages and civilians you are supposed to rescue. Between stages you are shown your progress toward freeing the prisoners, and reaching them is the goal of the final mission. The NES version supports the Zapper light gun as well as standard controller aiming. Enemies appear from doorways, windows and the background in steady waves, and survival depends on prioritizing targets quickly and conserving your heavier weapons for crowded moments.
