Prince of Persia – SNES Game

The Super Nintendo version of Prince of Persia is a side-scrolling action platformer set in a palace of dungeons and towers. You steer a prince through rooms of spike pits, cutting blades, collapsing tiles and gates worked by pressure plates, and duel guards with a sword using advances, parries and thrusts. Movement is animation-driven and heavy, so running jumps and ledge grabs must be lined up carefully. Potions found along the route restore or extend health, and a time limit hangs over the journey. Levels are structured as puzzles as well as obstacle courses, often requiring backtracking once a switch has been triggered. This release features redrawn 16-bit graphics and an arranged soundtrack, and expands on the original layout with additional stages beyond those in the earlier computer version.
