Skate or Die – NES Game

A skateboarding game made up of separate events rather than a single continuous course. You take part in challenges including a freestyle ramp routine, a high jump over the lip of a halfpipe, a downhill race through hazard-filled streets, a jam course, and a pool joust where two skaters try to knock each other down. Controls are built around timing your pumps and jumps to build speed and air, then landing tricks cleanly for points. Events can be played individually or as a set, and several support two players taking turns or facing off. The presentation carries the loud, cartoonish attitude typical of late-1980s skate culture, with a shop framing the action and a scoring system tracking your best runs.
