Star Ocean

Star Ocean: Blue Sphere is a Game Boy Color role-playing game that continues the story of the Star Ocean series, reuniting characters from the previous entry. The game was originally released only in Japan, and this version plays in English via a fan translation. You explore towns, wilderness areas and dungeons from an overhead perspective, gathering a party and fighting enemies in real-time combat rather than turn-based menus. The series’ skill and item creation systems return, letting characters learn abilities and craft equipment and consumables from gathered materials. Field interactions such as harvesting and fishing feed into that crafting loop. Presentation uses colorful sprite work scaled to the handheld screen, with an overworld map linking the game’s regions together.

This is a reproduction cartridge carrying an English fan translation, not an original licensed release. Every product we sell is cleaned and tested before it ships, and our games are backed by a 1-year warranty. Choose Game Only or Complete (CIB) above.
