Super Breakout – Gameboy Game

Super Breakout on Game Boy is a portable take on Atari’s paddle-and-ball formula. You move a paddle horizontally across the bottom of the screen and knock a ball up into banks of bricks, destroying them on contact and trying to keep the ball in play. Where the ball hits your paddle determines the angle it returns at, which is the only real control you have over aiming, and the pace picks up as bricks disappear. Losing the ball off the bottom of the screen costs you one of your allotted attempts. There is no narrative and no unlockable structure to speak of; the game is built entirely around reaction speed, anticipating rebounds, and clearing the playfield. The two-button, one-stick simplicity suits short handheld sessions.
