Super Mario World is a side-scrolling platformer for the Super Nintendo, set in Dinosaur Land. Mario and Luigi explore a branching overworld map made up of connected worlds, clearing stages to open new paths. Yoshi appears as a rideable companion who can swallow enemies and gain temporary abilities from certain shells. The cape feather lets Mario glide, dive and build up flight, joining the mushroom and fire flower, and a reserve item box stores a spare power-up for later. Many levels hide secret exits that open alternate routes on the map, including shortcuts through the Star Road and a set of especially demanding bonus stages. Ghost Houses, castles and fortresses hold puzzles and boss fights against the Koopalings, and a second player can alternate turns as Luigi.

Super Mario World: questions
What does Super Mario World play on?
It plays on any North American Super Nintendo, including the SNES Jr. It will not fit a Japanese Super Famicom without an adapter, and the SNES Classic Edition has no cartridge slot.
What’s included?
Game Only is the game by itself. Complete (CIB) adds the original box or case and the manual. Pick the one you want above; Game Only vs. Complete explains the difference.
How many players?
1-2 players.
How does it save?
It saves to memory inside the cartridge, kept alive by a small battery. These batteries last for decades but are now old; when one runs out the game still plays but cannot keep a save until the battery is replaced (more on save batteries).
Is it tested?
Yes. Every game is cleaned and tested before it ships and is backed by our 1-year warranty.
