Adventures of Dr Franken – SNES Game

Adventures of Dr. Franken is a side-scrolling platformer for the Super Nintendo. You play as Franky, a patchwork monster searching for the scattered body parts of his girlfriend Bitsy so she can be put back together. The levels are large and maze-like rather than strictly linear, sending you up and down through connected rooms and corridors, backtracking to find keys, items and exits. Franky can jump and attack the ghouls, bats and other creatures wandering the environments, and health and useful pickups are hidden throughout. Progress relies on mapping each area in your head and working out which routes open up once you have found the right item. The presentation leans on comic horror, with monster-movie settings and cartoonish enemy designs.
