The Ren and Stimpy Show Buckeroos – NES Game

This NES release is based on the Nickelodeon cartoon and puts Ren H\u00f6ek and Stimpy into a side-scrolling action game. You move through stages built around the show’s grubby cartoon settings, jumping across platforms, avoiding hazards and dealing with enemies along the way. The presentation uses the characters’ exaggerated expressions and slapstick humour, with sprite work and sound effects meant to recall the animated series. Progress is level by level, with a mix of platform navigation and obstacle avoidance that keeps the pace fairly straightforward. As with most cartoon licences on the NES, the appeal rests largely on recognising the characters and settings from the show, presented in the hardware’s chunky pixel style. Controls are simple, using the standard run and jump layout.
