Wizardry V Heart of the Maelstrom – SNES Game

Wizardry V: Heart of the Maelstrom brings the long-running first-person dungeon crawler to the Super Nintendo. You assemble a party of adventurers, choosing races, alignments and classes such as fighter, mage, priest and thief, then take them down through a multi-level labyrinth viewed from a first-person perspective. Movement is grid-based, one step and one turn at a time, and much of the challenge lies in mapping the maze, spotting traps and secret doors, and managing spell charges between rests. Combat is turn-based and menu-driven, with your front rank engaging in melee while back-rank characters cast spells or use missile weapons. Characters gain levels, better equipment and stronger spells over time, and the game expects careful preparation before each descent. Puzzles and NPC encounters break up the exploration.
