Zelda Link’s Awakening – Gameboy Game

Link’s Awakening is an overhead Zelda adventure made for the original Game Boy. Link washes ashore on Koholint Island, and to leave he must gather eight instruments from dungeons scattered across the island and wake the Wind Fish. The structure will be familiar from earlier overhead entries: each dungeon supplies a tool, such as the hookshot or Roc’s Feather, that opens the path forward. On this handheld you equip two items at a time to the A and B buttons, including the sword and shield, so swapping tools is part of solving rooms. Side characters, a trading sequence, and a fishing minigame fill out the island, and the story stays separate from Hyrule and the usual cast.
