Clash at Demonhead – NES Game

Clash at Demonhead is a side-scrolling action game for the Nintendo Entertainment System. You play as Billy Blaze, a special-forces soldier sent to stop a doomsday plot centered on a mountain called Demonhead. Rather than a straight sequence of levels, the game is built around a branching map of connected road sections that you travel between in any order, revisiting areas as you learn where to go. Money earned from defeated enemies is spent at shops on weapons, armor, items and special abilities, several of which are needed to reach otherwise blocked routes. Progress mixes shooting and platforming with exploration and conversations with characters you meet along the way, including boss encounters against a group of recurring villains. The tone is light, with cartoonish art and comic dialogue.
