Conquest of the Crystal Palace – NES Game

Conquest of the Crystal Palace is a side-scrolling action game for the NES. You play as a young warrior who fights through a series of stages populated by demons and other creatures, using a sword for close combat and gathering items to extend your options. A companion animal aids you in battle. Money dropped by defeated enemies can be spent at shops between and during stages on healing items, upgrades and equipment, so managing funds becomes part of the challenge alongside the platforming and combat. Each stage ends in a boss fight against a larger enemy with a set attack pattern. Level layouts mix jumping sections with waves of respawning foes, and story scenes with dialogue portraits appear between chapters to advance the plot.
