Heavy Barrel – NES Game

A run-and-gun action game adapted from the arcade original. You control a commando dropped into an enemy base, viewed from overhead, working through bunkers, trenches and interior corridors while shooting soldiers and vehicles. Doors and crates are opened with keys collected from fallen enemies, and they hide weapon upgrades such as flamethrowers, shotguns, grenades and the scattered pieces of the Heavy Barrel weapon itself, which can be assembled into a powerful gun once all parts are found. Ammunition for picked-up weapons is limited, so you cycle back to your default rifle when it runs dry. The NES version supports two players at once, letting a second commando join the assault, and progress is measured by pushing deeper into the complex toward the enemy leadership.
