Kirby’s Adventure – NES Game

Kirby’s Adventure is a side-scrolling platformer for the NES in which Kirby inhales enemies and swallows them to copy their abilities, gaining attacks such as fire, sparks, a sword, a cutter blade or an umbrella. Abilities can be discarded and swapped freely, and many are needed to reach hidden rooms and switches. Levels are selected from world maps dotted with doors, including museums where abilities can be picked up and rooms hosting sub-games for extra lives. Kirby can also float by inflating himself, letting you drift over obstacles at the cost of his inhale. Each world ends in a boss fight, and the story follows the Star Rod and King Dedede. Progress is saved to the cartridge.

Kirby’s Adventure: questions

What does Kirby’s Adventure play on?

It plays on the NES, front-loader or top-loader. This is the North American cartridge, which needs an adapter to fit a Japanese Famicom.

What’s included?

Game Only is the game by itself. Complete (CIB) adds the original box or case and the manual. Pick the one you want above; Game Only vs. Complete explains the difference.

How many players?

1 player.

How does it save?

It saves to memory inside the cartridge, kept alive by a small battery. These batteries last for decades but are now old; when one runs out the game still plays but cannot keep a save until the battery is replaced (more on save batteries).

Is it tested?

Yes. Every game is cleaned and tested before it ships and is backed by our 1-year warranty.
