Magician – NES Game

Magician is a side-view action game for the Nintendo Entertainment System in which you control a young spellcaster working his way through a fantasy world. Rather than relying on a sword or gun, your character deals with enemies and obstacles by casting spells, and part of play involves gathering the ingredients and items needed to prepare and use magic as you explore. The game mixes moment-to-moment action against roaming enemies with adventure-style elements such as talking to characters, managing what you are carrying, and working out which spell suits a given situation. Progress moves you through connected areas toward confrontations with more powerful foes. Controls use the standard NES pad, with menu screens for spell and item selection between stretches of action.
