NHL Stanley Cup – SNES Game

NHL Stanley Cup is a licensed hockey game for the Super Nintendo, notable for its camera: instead of a top-down or side view, the action is shown from behind the net using the SNES’s scaling and rotation effects, so the rink shifts perspective as play moves from end to end. You control one skater at a time, passing, shooting and checking while the computer handles the rest of the line. Real NHL teams are included, and you can play single exhibition games or work toward the championship. Goaltending, faceoffs and standard hockey rules are in place, and the unusual viewpoint changes how you judge passing lanes and shooting angles compared with other hockey titles on the system. Two players can compete against each other on the same console.
