Super Star Wars Return of the Jedi – SNES Game

The third of the Super Star Wars run-and-gun platformers for the SNES, adapting the events of Return of the Jedi. You fight through side-scrolling stages that follow the film’s arc, from Jabba’s palace and the desert skiffs to the forest moon of Endor and the second Death Star. Several playable characters are available depending on the stage, including Luke, Han, Leia, Chewbacca and Wicket, each with their own attacks and handling. Luke’s lightsaber and the Force powers he builds up sit alongside blasters and thermal detonators, and enemies drop pickups that upgrade your weapons. Between the platforming levels are vehicle sequences using the SNES’s scaling effects, including the speeder bike chase through the trees. Difficulty is high, with limited continues and long stages that demand careful jumping and enemy pattern recognition.
