The Death and Return of Superman – SNES Game

The Death and Return of Superman is a side-scrolling beat ’em up for the Super Nintendo, adapting the DC Comics storyline in which Superman falls in battle against Doomsday and four successors rise in his place. The opening stages put you in control of Superman himself, punching and throwing your way through waves of enemies before the confrontation with Doomsday. After that, play shifts to the replacement heroes, each handling differently: Superboy, Steel, the Cyborg and the Eradicator bring their own attacks and abilities to the same brawling framework. Combat uses combos, grapples and special moves that drain a meter, with flight sections and boss fights breaking up the street-level scrapping. Comic-style panels and text carry the story between stages. It is a single-player game played from a horizontally scrolling perspective.
