A Link to the Past is an overhead action-adventure for the Super Nintendo. Link begins by answering a call for help during a storm and soon travels between two versions of Hyrule, the Light World and a twisted Dark World, using a mirror and magic portals to move between them. Dungeons are entered in sequence, and each contains a key item such as the hookshot, hammer or a new type of boot that opens up areas you could not previously reach. Combat uses a sword swing and a spin attack, with bombs, bow, boomerang and magic-powered rods filling out the inventory. Heart pieces, bottles and secret caves are scattered throughout the overworld, rewarding exploration between story objectives.

Zelda Link to the Past: questions
What does Zelda Link to the Past play on?
It plays on any North American Super Nintendo, including the SNES Jr. It will not fit a Japanese Super Famicom without an adapter, and the SNES Classic Edition has no cartridge slot.
What’s included?
Game Only is the game by itself. Complete (CIB) adds the original box or case and the manual. Pick the one you want above; Game Only vs. Complete explains the difference.
How many players?
1 player.
How does it save?
It saves to memory inside the cartridge, kept alive by a small battery. These batteries last for decades but are now old; when one runs out the game still plays but cannot keep a save until the battery is replaced (more on save batteries).
Is it tested?
Yes. Every game is cleaned and tested before it ships and is backed by our 1-year warranty.
